Management Cybernetics of Stafford Beer

The new title for this book is “The Management Cybernetics of Stafford Beer.”

This book was originally titled “Cybernetics: A New Management Tool”. I have been ashamed of that title ever since a marketing specialist talked me into it in 1983.

The book was commissioned as an introduction to Stafford Beer’s work and the new title for the second edition reflects that purpose.

Considerable material is being added, e.g., a new section on syntegration which had not yet been invented when  the book was first published.  There may also be a few additions to the “laws” section. The rest of the book is essentially unchanged except for improving the language in places (ten years of trying to be a novelist has sharpened my appreciation for language).

Given the ridiculous cost of technical books (e.g. a used copy of this book goes for about $175.00 on Amazon), I decided to publish it as an eBook at a price that hopefully anyone can afford.
